Playoff Chances? A Lock!

It's officially time to print playoff tickets. Yup, your 2008 Milwaukee Brewers are playoff locks. Its' over...LOCKS, I say. No, this isn't any reverse psychology...it's the real deal. And yes, that would be a %100 flip-flop if you're scoring at home. I've gone from planning the Brewers funeral in May, to playoff lock in late August.

Even Ned can't screw this up. We hope.

Wake me when the playoffs start....football season starts tomorrow.

Are you actively trying to make sure the Brewers don't make the play-offs? Is this your staw man argument for if they don't and you can bash Yost all winter?

As per usual, Brad's opinions do not necessarily reflect the views of Chuckie Hacks or its other contributors.

Nice jinx, Brad. I hold you personally responsible if they don't make the playoffs.

We are being a bit bold today, kind sirs....

I have a good feeling about the Crew making the playoffs for the first time since I was born... But by no means is it a sure thing. A likely thing? Sure.

That said... Give me more JJ, more Braun...

If Hall would have been allowed to be the every-day 3rb baseman he would have hit 25-30 homers this year. My opinion.

Although I would like to hold Brad responsible for a lot of things, I think the coaching staff *(i. e. Babysitting staff) will be to blame. But nice going Cecil on the "Lock."

Bill Hall sucks.

Woz-

Yeah, he does. BUT! I stand by my statement.
And i like him, even if he doesn't live up to expectations. It's irrational, but for most of my life, the team I cheer hardest for has sucked, which is also irrational. But that's fandom.

I agree with Matt here. I don't know why everyone, Cards fans included, are porclaiming the Cards done after last nights game. A win tonight and they are right back to only being 3.5 backwith 29 games to play. Then you have the Mets/Phillies who would only be 4/4.5 back if the Brewers lose tonight.

Who's "Cecil?"

Actually......

The NL east teams have had me worried the whole time, a lot more than the Cards...

Oh, and the Brewers printed playoff tickets last year. I have mine at home.

So yes, it is time to print playoff tickets. It's just not time to count on being able to use them.

The Brewers are 4.5 games up right now - one bad week and they could be 1.5 games behind. Nothing is a lock.

Again, thanks Brad.

so - who do you want to win in the four-game series between the phillies and cubs? the brewers are either 5 or 6 back of the cubs going into that series and however many AHEAD of the phillies.

Cubs. Keep killing the competition, please. The Crew will be a better team in the playoffs then they are in the regular season with a shortened pitching staff, so help us get there all you can, Cubbies...

Anonymous said...

Yeah the Cubs will keep pounding the competition, including the 6 games the Cubs have left with the Crew. 3 @ Wrigley and 3 @ Wrigley North.

Hey dave-

Un-pop your collar, put down the fake Old Style, and shut the fuck up.

Anonymous said...

BTW- Brewers have won 4 of 6 at Wrigley... does that mean we can make asinine statements about it being Miller Park South?

I'm sorry, but the "Wrigley Field North" schtick makes Big Daddy's Single Exceptional Season turn in to the inedible Hulk.

Yeah, I went third person...

First things first, Brad if the crew dosn't make the playoffs I will personally drive down to lake Mills and punch you in the face.

Second- Wriglyville I'll be thrilled with any playoff birth but I'm not playing for second place just yet. Go Philly

I'm positively giddy at the thought of the amount of $ I'll get from the FIBs for my extra NLCS playoff tickets if it's Brewers vs Cubs.

Nubs, I have plenty of mosquitos in my yard...same effect as your "punch." Ha

Nice Brad way to wake the sleeping giant last night. Nice

Good to see that La Russa is still a piece of garbage with a team of asshats. Though I put the meltdown less on the Cardinals being fired up than on the fact that our stoppers are David Riske and Mota... God, the bullpen eats.

I fucking hate the Cardinals, Cardinal fans who consider themselves self-righteous keepers of baseball tradition, I hate Poo-Holes, I hate Troy Glaus and his PEDs and I hate that the Cards can be as ill-behaved on the field and get away with it.

Personally as a Cubs fan, I can't believe I'm saying this, I hope the Cardinals win the Wild Card and the Brewers end up in 3rd place.

I can believe it, dave. Because as you have previously proven, you're a tool.
