Wow...all I can say is this: If Tom Bosley isn't a first round pick in next year's Celebrity Death League...somebody in our league hasn't been doing their research. I mean...he's basically there already.
Prove us wrong Tom!

As much as we rip on Rickie... there were at least two balls yesterday hit to stage left that he would have gotten to that Durham didn't (and as far as I remember, never could)
Are you serious? Durham's defense is far superior to Dick Reeks. I highly doubt he would have gotten any of the balls the Ham missed.
Dick Reeks shouldn't even be in this sport.
I am serious. Rickie has significantly better range and better arm strength than Durham. It doesn't excuse his many faults, nor am I even saying I'd rather have him at second then Durham. But what I was stating is fact. That said, with his speed, range, and terrible, terrible inconsisentcy, he should be an outfielder, if anything.
Too bad he doesn't have an outfield bat, otherwise, you are right about the outfield. Weeks probably would have had those, but who knows if he would have made an errant throw.
you're lucky you credited jsonline for the photo. wouldn't want tommy h. throwing a hissyfit.
I agree about the inaccuracy about his arm and the outfield bat point. I guess i'm just frustrated because he's a total talent tease, or should I say potential tease. Maybe it's him, maybe it's coaching. He could go elsewhere and live up to his potential... I doubt it'll ever be obtained as a brewer. I just wish it would be.
Yes, Dick Reeks has a stronger arm that he consistanly throws balls into the dirt and into the dugout with.
I stand corrected. :+P
Man... way to have a conversation... Oh, wait. Quit bobbing on that lollipop and READ WHAT I SAID. All I said was he would have gotten to the ball and that he has a stronger (not more accurate) arm. I also said that he's a total tease, playing at a mediocre level at best and I'm frustrated to the point of homicide because his physical attributes aren't adding up to what he SHOULD be. He is the textbook example of someone who is a superior athlete and an inferior baseball player.
BTW- still love ya.
I'm not trying to be a douche or anything... I respect your comments as they are always well thought out and to the point. Any conversations about Dick Reeks just get me jacked up.
Not sure what's happened to Hardy's defense either.
Escobar to short, Hardy to Third, Dick Reeks to the unemployment line.
Actually, I will lend one of my clown cars and we can pack in a bunch of Brewers that need to go.
Who at second then, my friend? That's my worry...We all know/assume that Hardy or Weeks will be dealt, and because YayYay has a top prospect as a replacement at short AND third, AND of the two MLBers is the only one with any value (a similar situation to good ol' Overbay, mind you), that we'll lose Hardy and be stuck with Weaks.
And trust me, Rickie is one of the top three most frustrating position players for me, as well (after the Corey Hart Experience and Craig FUCKING Counsell starting at third. Again.)
Anyone? Because the more I ruminate on what I said about the JJ/Weeks situation, the more scared I get...
Maybe Counsell can cover both positions?! That would awesome!
I'm sure Ned would try it... Have an infield like a softball team; hell, at least Prince wouldn't look out of place.
I'm waiting for the day Ned puts Counsell at First Base to give Chubbs a day off, and he bats cleanup. 'Cause you know it's going to happen.
I don't foresee Hardy at second; it'd be a waste of an above-average shortstop... AHHH!
If you made the moves (Hardy to 3B, Escobar to SS, Weeks bye-bye) you would still have Hall left to do something with. Hall could play 2B, and you'd only need to find a platoon partner for him. Hell, you could probably just resign Durham who hits righties well and go Hall/Durham at 2b, Hardy/Branyan 3B, Escobar/whatever else at SS. Just a thought. Just as long as Dillon isn't in the fold anywhere.
Unless of course you can swing a trade of some kind for MR. Hall. Which would be awesome.
I just assume Hall will be dumped anyway. I highly doubt he will be part of Brewers '09.
I think hardy will be better served playing at 3rd. He has a strong accurate arm. I don't think anyone can disagree with that.
But my point remains- Hardy is Overbay... And Weeks won't fetch much in a trade.
Hall could play 2nd, and (in my opinion) would be an upgrade over Rickie, but I think the Crew's done with Mr. Hall, sadly.
And remember Gamel is pipelined for 3rd, though I realize he'll probably be moved to the OF like Braun. I'm not sold on Corey being a CF, as I don't like his defense. An OF of Braun,Hart, and Gamel is possible, but then we're back to a (potentially) weak defensive outfield.
In my dream world, Hardy is the 3rd baseman next year. That said, in my dream world I'm married to Laura Prepon.
I see Gamel more as a first baseman. I still don't think Prince will stay in Milwaukee long term. I think he has more big city aspirations.
I have the same feelings about Hart. He makes shoe string catches and then mis-judges simple plays.
He also likes to run face first into the wall. Don't get me wrong, I like Hart, but I don't think he can stand losing any more brain cells. He sounds half retarded in interviews. It reminds me of the movie Bedazzled when he becomes the dumb basketball player. "I think we played good, and if we try hard we play good. So, I think we played good"
Maybe he should get the free bottle of Focus Factor.
Ok, I'll take Gamel at 1st... That works.
So then we have Prince/Gamel, Escobar, Hardy at third (assuming he's not the one traded), and then... the continuing Craig Counsell Experience at 2nd? Are there any prospects at duece? Hmm.
I used to excuse Hart's outfield gaffe as inexperience, as he was brought up as a corner infielder early on. Now, I see them more as effort errors. That, and I agree that he's a touch... Special.
Not much in AA, but I don't think it's our problem to field a good team in Huntsville. It is our problem to win here now.
HOLY SHIT, This just in.. RIVERA IS PLAYING!!! (Just turned on the game)
And Billium, too... AND no Counsell!
Still waiting for Kirk Douglas to take that fatal fall down the stair. (first rounder for two years now!)
