The Crew is going to face an old friend tonight, as Dave "No Hits" Bush goes up against former verrrrrrrrry serviceable starter Doug Davis.
Check out his statistics, and let's do a little nitpicking. He was here for 3+ years. He didn't miss a start in the 3 full years he was here (103 starts). 633 innings. ERA around 4.03. He made a combined 5.7M in those 3 years.
Wow. 5.7M over 3 years. Gagne is making 10M and so far has pitched 19 innings with an ERA just below 7. I LOVE THIS GAME.
But that's neither here nor there. I'm almost positive Gagne is going to bounce back and be dominant again. ALMOST positive.
Anyway, Davis is having a very Davishy type year so far for the D-backs, very impressive considering he had a freaking piece of his thyroid removed 2 months ago. Here's to hoping he pitches somewhat well, and the Brewers still win by a comfortable margin.
Side Note: Since we're on the topic of Davis, I'd like to link this old-school post from Chuckie Hacks' beginning days...this is the post that got linked on Czaban I believe and led me to finding this joyful waste of 1+ hour of my workday. Good times have ensued.
