If this is true baby!
The Brewers have locked up the best pure hitter on the planet to a record 7 year deal! Holy record amount & time of contract in Brewer history Batman!
Here's the most interesting line:
Braun has agreed to a seven-year contract extension that will be a record in terms of both length and money for the team and the industry.
Industry? What does that mean? We'll post more when we see the numbers.
However...I'll throw the first question out there...What's gonna happen to the Prince?

Didn't A-Rod sign a 10 year extension?
Whatever, this is fantastic news.
And the starting first baseman for the 2009 season for your Milwaukee Brewers . . . Matt LaPorta! Not that I mind that at all, Prince is gonna blow a gasket that Braun got paid before him. Hopefully we will get starting pitching for him in the offseason. Braun is a beast, worth every penny!!!!!
Prince is going to be moved at some point down the road. 1st base is the easieast position to replace, especially when you know you've got laPorta blowing up Huntsville. Boras is absolutely going to make sure Prince gets into a bigger market and signs for every last penny he can get. He's just not destined to a long time Brewer.
What's going to happen to Prince? Maybe the 2nd part of the announcement is that he's being optioned to Nashville??
Seriously, he has a chance to sign an extension also. But he and Boras don't want to, so if he gets pissed, it'll show his immaturity.
Tulowitzki's deal last year was something like 6 years/33MM right? Braun, maybe 7 years 60/MM?
Congratulations to the new (eventual) Brewer leader in home runs.
In Mark A. I trust......
Haudricourt said it probably won't top 45 Million.
Yeah, I thought they were buying 2 free agency years for some reason....it won't be 60.
Woz, there will probably be a lot of cougars out tonite celebrating
Sign Corey Hart next....
Next 2 key signings are Hart and Gallardo...gotta lock those guys up and that's a nice core to build around.
....and Boras is LaPorta's agent too. Bummer.
