Not Our Best Week

It was just about a week ago that we learned that Yovani Gallardo tore his ACL.

The Brewers were just coming off of an inspired series victory over the Cubs at Wrigley with a 9th inning comeback.

They had just finally shed themselves of Turnbow and his 15 ERA by designating him for assignment.

Things were looking pretty OK.

In the 6 games since the announcement of the Gallardo injury?

We all know that they've lost 6 straight. How'd they get there?

The Brewers have hit .196 as a team, slugging at a .316 clip. Scored 16 runs in 6 games (by far the worst in the NL - the Cubs are next with 21 runs).

The Brewers have a team ERA of 6.31.

Loyal readers have begun to pine for the Florida Marlins roster instead of our own underachieving bunch.

John Donovan dropped them from 4th (huh?) to 19th (ouch) in his latest Power Rankings. (Not that this means anything, but it just speaks to the general perception of this team right now.)

Other than that, everything has been fine.

Thankfully, not all is lost - Willis is back.

HEY, cool. This team actually has a pulse...neat. Nice job Dick Weeks & nice job Willis.

Now everyone will just ignore the fact that Weeks shouldn't be leading off for the next week or so. And Yost can say again that nothing's wrong.

I know it's bad, but I was kind of hoping they'd get swept this weekend so some major changes might be made. Now it's just "out of sight, out of mind".

At least I will be able to say that I saw the worst attempt at a squeeze in person. On my way to today's game, any chance they win today???
