Inaugural Weekly Jeffrey Hammonds Award (WJHA)

Maybe there are a lot of frogs in Los Angeles. As for Horatio Ramirez, WTF???

The inaugural WJHA (Weekly Jeffrey Hammonds Award) winner is - Andruw Jones. This goes to the baseball player who can only be described as "stealing money." Trust me, there was tough competition indeed, but Jones is your current leader in the clubhouse.

Andy was a fine player in Atlanta for a decade. Last year, in a contract year I might add, the former slugger hit a robust .222 with a whopping .311 OBP. Didn't matter. The Dodgers needed a bat, and Andy needed a paycheck. The result - 2 years, $36 million! The 2008 stats: .157 average, .235 slugging, 0 HR, 2 RBI. At least they don't have an old, overpaid LF next to him like, say, Juan Pierre ($8 million this year). Oh, wait...

Congrats Andruw. Maybe you can use that money on learning how to spell your first name. Shawon Dunstson is your instructor.
