Pre-Favre QBs: The Second in a Series

The Second pre-Favre Packer QB we are honoring today is none other than the former Notre Dame transfer and thrower of passes to Al Toon in Madison, Mr. Randy Wright.

Randy's glory year was 1986 in which he started every game and threw for 3247 yards with 17 TDs and 23 INTs, good enough to put him second in the NFL in that category, leading the Packers to a stellar 4-12 record. Crappy, sure, but still better than Tampa Bay. Randy eventually gave way to the Majik Man during the 1988 season and now runs a vending machine company.

In regards to the photo, I can't believe I don't own this Starting LineUp. As an avid SLU collector, it would look great next to my Todd Day and B.J. Surhoff pieces. They must have been very hard up for players if ol Randy had a Starting LineUp. If anyone knows where I can get my hands on one of these, let me know. Thanks.

A guy I work with's kid is friends with Randy's kid. I guess Randy is a really good guy who's doing very well with his business. Just throwing that out there.

Yeah, I'm sure he's a nice guy, just not a very good NFL QB, and there is nothing wrong with that.

I would just like to welcome manbearpig. He is half-man, half-bear and half-pig, you know. Excelsior!

Ha! Wright Vending is the company that stocks the machines in my building on campus in Madison. Sadly, much like his performance on the field, the selection and the prices totally suck.
