I'm ok with it now...

Last month I made a little fuss over the fact that Braun may be batting behind Prince in the batting order this year. I've had some time to think about the situation, and talk to a few more people, and I guess I can let it slide. Here's what Ken Tremendous from Fire Joe Morgan told me...

Well, given that Braun's 2007 OBP was .370 and Fielder's was .395, it may make more sense to hit Fielder 3rd. That's assuming that Braun has the year he had last year, or better, I guess, but it probably doesn't make a difference unless one of them has expressed an extreme preference for one or the other position (like Manny and Ortiz in Boston). Hitting Braun 4th probably isn't a bad idea, though it has nothing at all to do with SB.

So we got that going for us...which is nice. But now I feel 100% ok with the situation. Why? Because Ryan Effing Braun says IT DOESN'T MATTER if he hits 3rd or 4th.
"Whether I'm third or fourth, there should be plenty of protection. It doesn't make much of a difference to me."

But the best quote of the story is:
"They're not gonna pitch around Prince too long with me behind him," " said Braun without even a hint of cockiness.

Damn right. You hear that National League? Ryan Braun doesn't give a F what you try to do or where you try to pitch him. You want to pitch around Fielder? Go ahead because Ryan Effing Braun is taking you yard on the next at-bat.

I'm still waiting for Braun to announce his plans to screw the wife of every pitcher he hits a bomb off of this year.
