In what has to be considered the mother of all hypocritical moves, Bobby Knight has accepted a position with ESPN as an analyst for their college basketball programming.
Now I like Knight, but what did he call the media? A profession just a step above prostitution?
Indeed.

he doesn't have a problem with members of the media who he thinks understand the game. he has spent his career ripping reporters who ask mundane and downright stupid questions, and his beef has always been a variation of "you don't know what the hell you're talking about." now, he is going to be an analyst on a subject he knows better than just about anybody.
so ... i don't think hypocritical is the right word. ironic, amusing, yes ...
Is 'egomaniac' the right word?
I'm pretty sure hypocritical is the right word.
people are critical of institutions all of the time and then work for them. see politics, for example - virtually every candidate for president/congress/whatever runs against that institution. is that hypocritical?
After I actually went back and read the article...who the hell really cares. He's just hired on for the NCAA tourney coverage. Pretty sure CBS owns the titties on March Madness. ESPN ceases to exist during the 3 week holiday- This is more a ploy by ESPN to try and get more idiots to watch their updates and analysis of the Tourney between the 3 week continual looping of World Series of Poker re-runs.
They should have Knight help with the WSOP coverage too. He could explain the difference between your game face and your poker face.
i see that uttech builders is the "featured sponsor." out of curiosity, where do you all put the non-featured sponsors?
