Marquette Gold Update

Nice effort by Marquette last night. 0-12 on 3-pointers! In a mild upset, Dom James was only responsible for 25% of those misses.

2 assists on 17 made field goals by Marquette is also an impressive stat. McNeal and James tied for the team lead with 1 assist.

I had the misfortune of watching the entire game. At half I believe MU had 19 points. I bet my buddy that they'd finish under 50 points. They finished with 51 and I think they got that with like 10 seconds left. Without that bet to make that game watchable, I don't know if I could've suffered through the entire 2nd half......

Expect a more unbiased mid-season report about the best college basketball team in the state sometime in the next couple weeks.

Matt was right about last night though...what a terrible display on national tv.

In the limited number of Marquette games I have watched, Wes Matthews doesn't look like a very good player. Seems like a hacker. He did score about 13 last night, but I just don't think he is that good. McNeal is the heart and soul of that team.

As usual, a Marquette team is regressing as the season goes along.

But Tom Crean is a heck of a coach.

Bad Marquette showed up last night. Good Marquette can hang with anyone in the country, Bad Marquette shoots 18 percent and can lose to UW-River Falls.

Tom Crean IS a great coach...I mean, recruiter.

They need to leave those baby blue wannabe 1960's Lakers jerseys in the equipment room. I thought they were the Gold?
