Oh darn.
According to John Donovan from SI.com, the Cubs have wrapped up the NL Central title with their signing of the Japanese outfielder.
The Cubs took a huge step toward salting away the Central on Wednesday when they agreed to terms with free agent Kosuke Fukudome, the multi-tooled outfielder from the Chunichi Dragons.
Oh, and he says this about the Eric Gagne signing.
-- how bad was the Brewers' decision to give Eric Gagne $10 million for one season of closing? He had a 6.57 ERA in 26 appearances in the second half of '07. Relief pitchers are hard to find on the free-agent market, sure. But that's ridiculous.
That's too bad. I was really looking forward to the 2008 baseball season.

That might have been the guy who picked the Reds to win the division last year....
No, that was Jon Heyman.
That's too bad......well, there's always the year after next year.
for the brewers' sake, let's hope he's back on the juice by the time 08 started. his pre- and post-testing numbers are, um, interesting.
(injuries factored in, of course...)
