LaPorta Update

Matt LaPorta is mashing in the Arizona Fall League for the Mesa Solar Sox. He leads the AFL in RBIs with 9 RBIs in 8 games, and is hitting .300. There was some concern that he'd be overmatched at the plate because he ended last year in A ball. Apparently, not a concern.

Let's hope he learns how to play LF.

How many games do they play in the AFL? If he bats over .300 in about 30 games then I say we have a story for the Spring Training LF spot.

Imagine if he played LF last year. With him, Prince, Billy, Braun, Weeks, and Estrada...that might be the worst defensive ballclub in baseball history.

Looks like the Solar Sox play 32 games this year.

More good news - 0 errors so far for LaPorta. And he's slugging .700.
