Tragedy Averted

Thanks to some hot hitting by Jenks and Counsell and a decent performance from Cubs killer Chris Capuano, the Crew managed to salvage game three of the series today. Thank goodness for Wade Miller.

Despite the fact that the Jenkins Jungle has been relocated to left field, Jenks continues to pepper the right field bleachers...how 'bout showing the Jungle a little love, Geoff? Go the other way!

Jenks, feed the Jungle!

Can somebody please tell me what the Brewers' record is in those retro unis over the past 2 years? I bet they're playing about .200 ball in those things.

Probably not much more than .200. Let's hope the Brewers don't have a repeat record on the road as they did last year...it was awful.

I agree Kevin. It's nice to have a battle-tested starter like Suppan to kick off a road trip on a good note. Mark DeRosa, golden sombrero...nice. What's Derek Lee hitting vs Milwaukee. It's got to be like .400.

The Brewers are horrible in the retro unis, when trying to complete a sweep (i.e. Wednesday), and on bobble head giveaway days. That's why they won last year VS. Cleveland on Fathers day. It was all 3 aspects, and a way of defying the baseball gods. Jenkins Jungle is in left b/c of all those opposite field HR's he hits. I don't think iPods were invented the last time he hit one to right.....

I mean left....it's early.

Shouldn't the Cubs be ahead of the brewers in your standings to the right - given the head to head record? Just asking...

On Chuckie Hacks, tie goes to the Brewers. Plus it's clearly in alphabetical order.

Wade Miller is going to have to pitch better than that to get to 14 wins this year, Wrigleyville.

Chicago comes before Milwaukee.

Yes, yes he is. So is Sheets.

Speaking of Tragedy averted...can we please get somebody in our home city of Miller Park to let the big wigs at miller know that the launching of Miller Chill is a big mistake. I saw a billboard for Miller Chill in Florida the other day stating it was Miller but with a twist of lime and salt.....is that not a direct violation of their own Man Law??? I think this is just in the south but I needed to know what the deal with this is!

As a fan of Miller I think we need a ruling on this from the Beer games expert himself Chopper....can you help me out?

Wow, I've never herd of "Miller Chill" but it sure sounds awful. For those who want fruit in their beer, I suggest Honey Weiss. And yes, it's a direct violation of a man law. Even Burt Reynolds and Jerome Bettis should know this!

As for the standings, the Brewers will be above the Cubs at all times possible...and a tie is one of those times.

But Brewers comes before Cubs.

And we didn't have a bet that Ben Sheets would win 14 games - you did, however, bet me that Wade Miller would win 14.

I'm well aware of that... I'm just making polite conversation. Sheesh.

Sorry. Comparing Ben Sheets to Wade Miller got me fired up.

I should remind everyone that when I say "bet" - nothing of value is on the line. Only pride. And mine is worthless.

Right on cue Adam!!! Jenks hit one out to Left Center tonight! Can you please rip on Bill Hall for not getting hits?

I saw that HR by Jenks, and I immediately thought of my post yesterday, and I hung my head in shame. That should be enough penance for me, BC. Especially since I hadn't even mentioned your "battle tested.....good note" claim for Suppan and the road trip. As for Hall, I don't know wether or not to rip on #2 to get hits, to pay attention on the basepaths, or to catch routine pop outs in CF. How's this: Hey Bill, If by some miracle you do actually manage to get to first base in a game, please just try and steal 2nd right away so we can avoid watching you struggle to get back to 1st in an inning killing pickoff or baserunning mistake. How's that?
