I thought the pitching staff was doing ok...

But according to this guy, it's a problem.

Sooo...you write for one of the largest newspapers in the country, you list the Brewers as the 3rd best team in all of baseball yet casually mention that their pitching "remains the problem?" In what context?

Starting pitching? Ummm..no. I've mentioned this a couple times the last week or so, but I don't quite see how leading Major League Baseball in Quality Starts is the sign of a problem. How about being tied for 6th in starter's ERA? They are also in the top 10 in WHIP, and for the K/BB ratio and K/9 ratio.

Soooo...again...what there any kind of objective research done to make such a statement? Or was it just a subjective (a better word might be arbitrary) opinion of a guy who maybe doesn't know what he's talking about? Who knows?

Anyway, if you want my OPINION, I can't find too many holes right now in the Brewers' pitching staff. Note that I didn't even bring up the bullpen, which has been lights out since the addition of Hells Bells.

AND: I have no more energy to write anything else on this post, after Gamel's home run and Braun's absurd catch.

....WTF is the deal with those Gracie Combat commercials during Brewer games? They just seem wildly out of place in between innings with the slow motion beatdowns. Maybe Parra should buy these in preparation for the next rumble with Prince in the dugout.

Bet your credit card maxes on the internet. The Woz Guarantee has been a staple at CH now for a solid year and 3 months and has never failed (except for those few times it did). It's a solid 100% investment (well...maybe more like 55%).

With the BS aside, I'm going to "go out on a limb" here. I'm going to predict a win total for the Brewers higher then any you've probably seen on the internet. I'm thinking 94 wins this year.

My reason for such lunacy? Mainly, the offense. I'm thinking BIG years from a lot of guys. Guys are pissed. Lots of chips on shoulders. Everybody has got their money...got a taste of the big time last year...got to learn how to handle the spotlight...and are now ready to go. Corey Hart got paid and wants to show last September was an aberration. JJ Hardy got paid more and wants to show his next team he's a legit star in this league. Prince got paid and wants to show everyone he's worth the cash. Braun got paid...and well...he's the best player ever. Hall wants to get to a reasonable level. Weeks want to show he can be somewhat consistent. Cameron will do what he does. Kendall can't hit the ball out of the infield...but hey...the pitchers seem to like him.

We're going to score a lot of runs. This much I'm sure of. The starting rotation has been built to eat innings. If we get Hoffman back by late April, I'll buy into the whole "stabilizing" force he brings to the pen.

The 2009 Milwaukee Brewers are a train heading to October people. There's room. Get on Board.
